Biography
Karen Cooper currently serves as professor of practice, teaching Introduction to Legal Analysis, Research, and Communication; Introduction to Legal Advocacy; Advanced Legal Writing and Editing; and Employment Law. She graduated from Duke University, cum laude with distinction in Political Science, in 1993, and graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 1996. While at Michigan Law, she was executive note editor of the Michigan Journal of International Law and a teaching assistant for the Advanced Legal Research course.
After law school, Cooper practiced in the employment law litigation group at Long, Aldridge, & Norman (now Dentons), focusing on employment law compliance, restrictive covenants, and discrimination in employment. She then became director of employment administration and special counsel at TRX, Inc. She began teaching at Emory Law in 2002.
